ABOUT

I'm Helen and I started The Lilac Garden in 2020. The name was inspired by my passion for gardening and appreciation of the changing seasons. I have a studio in my garden at my home based in Essex, where I create all my designs and try to use seasonal flowers and foliage wherever I can.

After raising my three children, I sought a career change. Given my enduring passion for flowers, I opted to enroll at Writtle University College to pursue Floristry. I absolutely loved it and was there for 4 years gaining distinctions in both Level 2 and Level 3 Floristry qualifications.

Ethos

In the past few years I have developed a cutting garden with the aim of using the flowers in my designs. It's a joy growing something from seed to see the end result in a bouquet of flowers!

I care deeply about the environment and am trying to eliminate single use plastic from my work. This includes delivering bouquets in simple brown paper wraps or reusable jars and vases and using alternatives to foam in my designs.

I truly pour my heart and soul into all my designs and love sharing my passion for flowers through my work.
